I specialise in caring for larger gardens only, generally anything above one acre, although more complex, technical gardens of half an acre and above count too! I have looked after gardens of up to 40 acres, and small estates of up to 275 acres. My experience covers most garden styles and periods, so whether you have a formal garden with topiary, parterres, bedding schemes etc. or a woodland garden with soft intermingled planting and winding paths, I can help. 

I work on half day or full day bookings and am available all year round to cover various tasks through the seasons, though generally I reduce my visit frequencies or times in mid winter. I'm afraid I don't offer one off services as I feel for a client to really benefit from my help, I need to learn their garden over time. That said, I do offer interim help to cover periods of staff absence or whilst the garden is recruiting a permanent gardener and needs short term assistance....

I am often asked about how much time is required to care for gardens, and as a rule of thumb in my experience you need a gardener for one day per acre per week during the growing season (March to November) for an average mixed garden of beds, borders, lawns, ornamental trees etc. This can be halved during mid winter (December & January). 

I use my own tools and professional battery machinery, so no noisy engines, exhaust fumes, petrol etc. and I try to work in harmony with the environment and nature as much as possible......pesticides are a no-no! The only thing I can't bring is a ride-on mower! But I have extensive experience of using these and small tractors and am happy to use my clients machines for larger scale mowing etc.
